How we’re keeping clients and staff safe

PPE Our staff are issued with face masks as a safety precaution and may use them whilst caring for you in the home, shopping or where social distancing is not possible, this includes public transport. This is to minimise any potential harm and risk. Our staff will also have disposable gloves and/or hand sanitiser.

Symptoms of COVID – 19  If you have any symptoms of COVID then please call 111 or contact your GP as soon as you can, home testing and on-site testing is now readily available. As per the Government advice, if a client or anyone in their household shows symptoms of, or is diagnosed with COVID-19, PPE equipment including apron, gloves , fluid resistant face mask and eye protection, will be worn as deemed necessary by a risk assessment. Please do not be alarmed when our staff wear additional PPE when caring for you and supporting you, please don’t hesitate to contact me for more information.

Service Provision We are monitoring all our services and receiving regular updates from staff on their well-being and that of the people they support. For any clients who have been advised to self-isolate we are supporting them to live safely and comfortably and arranging essential shopping/deliveries of medications etc. I would like to reassure people that we have robust policies and procedures in place, including business continuity and contingency planning with our public sector health and social care partners, as underlined in the Department of Health’s coronavirus action plan. We will work together with others to ensure you are fully supported during this time, this may mean working flexibly, and where our clients are reliant on the service for personal care

provisions, we are prioritising these home visits. Where clients have family, who can support them in the interim during the lockdown restrictions this will be noted, and we understand you may wish to cancel care and support visits during this time. Please do not hesitate to call us if you need us, we will continue to follow guidelines in line with easing of lockdown and we realise that this is fast moving and is subject to changes as we go forward.

Social Activities As the lockdown eases we are hopeful that we can again support you to the places that you normally go within the community, we realise however that some places will remain closed for now, such as nightclubs, soft-play areas, indoor gyms, swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys and spas. At all times we will follow the government guidelines in relation to social distancing this is now 1 metre plus to remain safe, and it is understood the Government will keep all measures under constant review and this guidance many change in the future.

Service Delivery Update – Easing of the Coronavirus Lockdown in July

We hope you and your family have been all keeping well during this difficult time, and I would like to reassure all new and existing clients that we are continuing to deliver services in line with government guidelines.

Recently the government have announced from Saturday 4th that the current lockdown restrictions will be easing gradually, in phases, in a safe way whilst continuing with social distancing measures. This means that pubs, restaurants and hairdressers will be able to reopen, providing they adhere to COVID Secure guidelines.

From the same date, two households will be able to meet up in any setting with social distancing measures, and people can now enjoy staycations in England with reopening of accommodation sites.

Also in order to begin restoring the arts and cultural sector, some leisure facilities and tourist attractions may also reopen, if they can do so safely – this includes outdoor gyms and playgrounds, cinemas, museums, galleries, theme parks and arcades, as well as libraries, social clubs, places of worship and community centres.

This is good news and we are looking forward to supporting you, as before, should you feel that now is the time for you to go out into the community. At the same time, we understand that you would prefer not to go out in the community just yet, or you may prefer to continue to shield yourself and your family, and we understand this completely.

I would like to reassure our clients and their families that our staff are following the latest Government and Public Health England (PHE) coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance. We are keeping fully up to date with official advice, making sure that all our staff understand and follow the very latest COVID-19 guidance, this includes robust infection control measures, including handwashing, use of PPE and avoiding close contact with each other. We expect staff to be extra vigilant about wearing appropriate PPE, appropriate hand washing and sanitising and keeping clients’ homes clean. The well-being of our clients and staff is our highest priority.

If you would like to reinstate support, I ask that you please give us a call on 01782 683046 or indeed my mobile number 07767166636, to arrange a day and time. We will do our best to accommodate your request, or if you would like to try a reduced package of care, say a couple of hours a week or a taster session to see how things work out, then that’s fine, we will be guided by your wishes and choices. If you choose not to have any support for now, that is absolutely fine, however could I ask that you let me know either way, how you wish to proceed, so that I can allocate rotas for the next few weeks and or months for our staff, who normally support you.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
